nice fish. Also You could try the baby bull shad for them. I think it has great hookup ratio. But those are some great fish. Wish i could catch them that size that often! Good luck with the big one!

Like i said the action my be bad but I dont know why but it catches some big bass. I missed an 8 pounder on it once.

Also I dont know if this would be a great lure for them but have you ever tried a 6th sense flow glide? The action is crap but the fish absolutely destroy it. Shad color is the best and i have caught a few smallies on it. It is 6 inches but I dont know why but it just slays every fish in the river.

Good luck man. A bait i would recommend for them is probably a small glide or jointed swimbait like the mikey.

Nice fish! Even when you fish swimbaits you will still catch the dinks. I caught a 1/2 pounder on a hill country gill!

Dang man. Those are some big smallies I caught a 5 pounder out of the river and they fight hard. Its a whole other kind of fish. Great Day!
