  1. I would assume that the 2x hooks would be lighter, right? I will definitely experiment with both, though.
  2. Okay that makes sense. The big bass are big for a reason. Thanks!
  3. Great fish! I always love to see that other species will hit glidebaits too. Makes me want to fish them every time I travel.
  4. That's so sick that trout would go after a (relatively) large bait. I have always caught mine on in-line spinners and spoons, but I want to try to catch some on the Deps SS 115. This game me confidence!
  5. That is awesome. I always wondered if a hudd 68 would work for monster snook. I'm definitely going to have to try now!
  6. Great fish! Have you tried catching reds on a glidebait yet?
  7. It almost seems sacrilegious to have a wire leader attached to the front of a glidebait. That being said, I do fear that a pike may cut off some of my glidebaits, as the big ones have been inhaling 6-7" lures no problem. What type of wire/heavy fluoro leader do you guys recommend throwing, if any? Thanks.
  8. Most of this year was a pretty awful year for pike for me. I never caught them when I was targeting them, only a few times when I was bass fishing. I had never caught them swimbaiting before, but that was a goal I wanted to accomplish. Due to the inconsistent weather, I have been fortunate enough that my lake has not frozen over. I have never been able to open water fish this time of year, so naturally now that I have the chance I have been throwing glides in hope of a monster bass. That has yet to pan out, mostly because my lake has incredibly steep banks so I believe the fish are too low in the water column. That being said, I have still had a ton of fun throwing glidebaits for pike! So far they have loved the Jackall Gantarel, Evergreen ES Flat, and Deps SS 145. I really love pike fishing, minus the fear that they may swim away with one of my baits. Gotta love whenever some type of predator is eating swimbaits though!
  9. The lakes I fish the most do not really have any type of baitfish, but we do have bluegill, crappie, other panfish. Would a large bass still be fooled by a shad pattern? I am wondering if a natural looking shad/hitch glidebait would still fool large fish, or if they would shy away from something that looks somewhat foreign. Thanks.
  10. I just recently purchased a Deps Slideswimmer 145, and I'm not sure the hooks will be strong enough to horse a fish to the boat. Do you guys have any hook size/model recommendations for the 145? I do not want to accidentally turn the bait into a fast sink, as it already sinks about as fast as I would like! Thanks.
  11. How heavy of a bait do you guys think a Metanium MGL 150 B is throwing without wearing out the gears? I just recently got a rod that can throw baits up to 3 oz (because I throw glidebaits in the 1-3 oz range) and was wondering if a Metanium could handle it with the brass gears. Thanks.
