Hello ladies gentlemen and everyone in between. I have been getting more into salt fishing as of late so I’ve been looking for gear that can double dip into both few and saw. Weird question but I wanted to know if anyone had any experience using a conquest Dc in the salt? Whether wading for trout in Galveston or even throwing big glides at stripers I’d love to know. I like the idea of having a nice reel I can maintain but occasionally use in the salt to throw some swimbaits of varying sizes. Any thoughts as well, bad idea, good idea, Ben save your money and focus on the crippling school loans you have, get something else, etc? thnaks

I bought a jimmy rigz holy gill a week ago. Haven’t gotten it yet but from videos and other notable reviews seems like it will be great option. Fingers crossed that’s the case for me.

If bass forage a lot on blue gills I’d recommend a toxic baits whippersnapper. I know it’s not a glide but the thing gets bit. Welcome to SU!

Damn that’s a real shame, I used Gully's reel services a year or two ago and he was great. I was hoping I’d be able to send him some reels after a wade fishing trip down in Florida. Hopefully it’s just been a really busy couple of months.

I’m a low profile guy with a massive bias towards shimano so I’d have to agree with @Dink whisperer. I recently got the new Antares dc Md and I really like it. Time will tell of course but it seems super smooth and pretty damn strong overall. I have heard great things about round reels but they just feel weird in hand. Probably because I got Vienna sausages for fingers but that’s besides the point. That being said any reel that gets you out on the water chucking baits is a good reel.

Congrats on the growth! Excited to see where this new journey takes you. Looking forward to picking a couple up knowing my tendency to lose lures. Here’s the fish I caught 30 minutes after getting my whipper snapper in the mail. Safe to say it works. Please ignore the stupidly excited face I made, I was in a rut for awhile and was extremely happy.
