This one was quite the catch. I was fishing off of the observatory deck at West Point Dam and getting the hang of working a glide bait. I’m a little new to glide bait fishing, so I’m still figuring out how the bait works. I was having luck with gar following and striking at the glide, too. About mid-day, there was an insane amount of top water blowups from the stripes, so I threw the glide straight into the current, gave it one pop, SMACK. Boy, was this a fun fight, 7.53 lbs for my new overall personal best!
