What’s everyone using for C2C video filming? I currently just run a GoPro on a chesty. I would like to mix up some of the angles and maybe even improve the quality with some budget camcorder? Also looking at the option of a drone if anyone has recommendations? thanks in advance SU

Yes haven’t had the chance to night fish it yet but excited to. I have and ROF 0 hud and a rat I’d like to use. Hoping Mike drops those Tyrant 8’s sometime soon as well for that bite as well.

Well, I got back out there this morning. The weather was perfect heavy overcast with light rain and about 12mph winds, this made all the difference. I had fish fighting for the bait from the first cast. I ended up dumping two fish and landing my best swimbait fish from this lake yet. I saw a wolf pack on this spot on my previous trip, an isolated boulder patch in about 22ft of water in between summer and spawning areas. This lake has a lot more to offer and I’m excited to finally feel like I’m headed down the right path and can’t wait for the next day we get some similar weather. 5.75lbs x 18

That’s a great point. I video all my outings as almost film review and going back and watching my most recent trip. I didn’t realize how loud the water is when it slaps up against your boat when facing into the wind. The sound is dramatically quieter when just going with the wind.

I will give that a try. You’re right in that most baits I’ve tried tried wouldnt generate a reactions strike. I’ve fished a lot of hawghunters/Hudds and a 250 but pretty slow with long big glides. I think because of the water clarity it’s hard to sneak up on a fish with anything, they see it from a ways off. But if I can burn something past them it might just trigger them. I did have a quality fish take commit on a tk last year that I was fishing fairly fast right below the surface.

Haha actually just watched that video before I posted this, as well as down size to upsize. Definitely will make some of the changes Mike talked about and give it a try. I’m currently running 25lb on my 250 and 20lb on Hawghunter and Hudds. I know my hooks are definitely too big though after listening to Mike.

Looking for some advice guidance after a bit of struggle.I’m not new to big bait fishing but this is my first season not bringing conventional setups on the boat as a backup. I have focused in on a particular body of water with some true trophy northern strain. By eye judging I’ve seen several in the 7-8lb range and a handful I believe to be over 10lbs. I’ve released 4lbers only to watch them swim down and be dwarfed by their counterparts. The big fish are however INCREDIBLY SMART and the lake’s natural conditions help them stay that way. Here’s a brief rundown on the lake and what I know over roughly 15-20 trips. - The lake is super super clear. Like 20-25ft visibility. The lake is also very deep up over 100ft+ towards the middle and very steep off the banks. - Mainly large chunk rock (think basketball size and bigger) bottom very little vegetation beside the algae slime that cover the rock because of the clarity. *makes fishing baits on bottom almost impossible as they come up covered in algae where the line tie is* -Lake is trout stocked and the primary forage of the trophy size fish I believe. -The structure the bigger fish relate to is chuck rock bluffs like down to 30ft in a matter of 5 yards off the bank. The bigger fish cruise in wolf packs and feed in these areas. Here’s what I’ve learned. I’ve hooked two of the bigger size fish in this lake so far and both times there were some commonalities. -They won’t eat in open water. The bait has to be TIGHT to the rock wall or a big boulder or even the surface. They need something to corner the bait essentially. - They love to follow. I’m talking a whole wolf pack trailing the bait for 20 yds. -Wind and low light is key. If it’s glass calm it’s not even worth launching the boat they will just follow and follow. -Changing angles is almost impossible on these spots because if my boat isn’t positioned right on the bank it would be in 60+ft of water. Changing the direction in which I fish the walls (north -> south to south—>north) is the best I can do. Thanks for reading. Looking for any guidance anyone might have. Feel free to pm.
