10.0oz 25 1/8" Virginia giant fell for Mattlures new ultimate gill which will be out soon. My PB is 10.15oz but this was the most rewarding bite I've ever had. She took me by suprise. My bait felt like it washed out for a second and then my line slowly loaded. The clarity was only 2' so I didn't know how big she was for a few more seconds. When I saw her mouth open as she charged the boat I was positive I would "Not Allowed" it up some how lol. I just kept the line as tight as I could. As I went to net her, I noticed my net was inside out and tangled. Luckily she choked the bait And she was heavy enough that it was a non-issue. I freaked out for a while after putting her in my livewell which was not big enough. She didn't look very happy in there so I got her weight, length, took a few picks And put her back. All of this happened 15 minutes before they dropped the code for this months tournament. I was so stoked on the fish, I didn't care. Other gear used was a Dobyns Fury 795, Shimano Cardiff 301A w/ a 301 handle and 20# Seaguar Invizx.
