6.22 on my own bait.

I have been only throwing my own baits for the past 2+ months. Building what is getting bit at the ponds I fish at, and what buddies need at the lakes.

Had a few hours today it's 111° outside and 123° in the sun per my truck. Only guy at the pond like a crazy person.

Threw on my crankdown that I have been getting bit on last few weeks. I got bit, fished jumped a few times, glad I added swivel hangers!

Went to bank flip over the concrete and rock ledge, and the dang thing came off my hooks. Story of my life with big fish. I jumped into the nasty reclaimed water and landed the fish, kind of like my PB haha.

6.22# and 22" long, imagine before summer body...sheesh.

Good day out there in the blistering sun!

Awesome catch. Nothing more satisfying than catching a big fish on a lure you made yourself.  What did you make the tail out of?

Plastisol.
