Lighter hooks will float the bait. I've had great success fishing the triple trout super slow to create a big v across calm water, or burning and pumping it as hard as possible. Triple trout is actually just over 7.5" nose to end of body. Never put the tape on it, I think this was considered a "10 inch" with the factory tail.
