Ipleadthefish2
Hey SU!! Looking to get my first kayak. Would love to get one i can stand up comfortably in. I'm 5 ft 11. I've been looking at the Pelican Catch series.. as well as the Big fish 105 and Moken 10. Anyone have any experience with these? Anyone have a favorite I'm not looking at?? I'm looking to fish on a large reservoir, Lake Hartwell. Any advice is super welcome!!
WaterWolf44
I have a riot mako 10. It's the cheapest pedal kayak you can get. 1000. I like mine great kayak and it's super sturdy Ipleadthefish2
Mkel83
I have an old town sportsman. I scoot around on that thing like it’s a paddle board if it’s not too windy. It’s right at a grand. Ipleadthefish2
rwp
The Pelican boats are really good for the $400-600 pricetag they usually have. Jackson Bite is probably my favorite in the $1000 range. Bass pro has the ascend line. Old Town makes great boats, but I prefer the 120 which is a bit more money. The list goes on and on. BOZ
Jackson Bite is my go to now. Light, easy to load and unload, easy stand on, stability is great and it has a ton of deck space. Ipleadthefish2

I’ve got a lifetime Tamarack and love it for the price but would like to upgrade to a peddle drive eventually. Ipleadthefish2

rwp
I have some old footage from my bite. It was my first fishing kayak and a great boat. They aren't super fast, but I had no issues standing and fishing or throwing a cast net from it. https://youtu.be/qVxXoWlQ7lY https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UoWOhZqo13c https://youtu.be/IGPjJaXreoY Ipleadthefish2

If you can't find the angler version, but find the recreational version, it's $100 cheaper and doesn't come with rod holders. You can add them pretty easily. Where are you located? rwp
Great outdoor provision is my local dealer in Virginia Beach. They have a store in Charlotte NC. They had some 2021 bites left over on sale for $929 I think I was, but I'm not sure if they have them in that location. It's like a 2hr drive, but it might be worth giving them a call.
