Carved up shad

I sat on this bait for awhile, because everyone had a shad bait.

I decided to pull it out of the box and semi finish it. I ended up carving scales for the first time on a full bait. I think it came out pretty damn good.

It's 6.5" no tail and pretty skinny. Lots of options when it comes to making a bait.

I'll definitely try and get it to crankdown, maybe as a 3 piece, along with an erratic glide. But 2 people have said maybe a big ass lipless for stripers. We shall see!

First pour came out great, even threw some swivel hangers in hoping it's where I want the hooks to hang from. Worst case I cut them and drill in a screw eye as I test.

Updates as I progress!

Brought this back from the dead 2 weeks ago. Need a shad bait sometimes and a couple buddies asked about this so here are some updates.

Bait ended up being to skinny in the rear section to comfortly and confidently cut and install a tail.

So I poured the bait in 1/2s and made it wider, cleaned up the carvings a bit and it came out awesome. Pics of new master, new baits ,and completed baits with swim vids
