SwimbaitsatLMV
And get the regular model with one joint, not the X2. I actually love the 7" x2. Tim Eaves from another forum (way less popular) turned me onto that bait for pond and night fishing, and it has out fished the single joint by far for me. GRIZZ
7" are most used on the east coast
george_r_d
We out here In the east! Woo. Hahaha
george_r_d
I'm thinking the 7" is big enough but not too big. Same size as the 175. Feel like I could fish it with more confidence. Day and night. And if I do wanna upgrade she'll be on the black market! Thanks for all the advice y'all! adconx
Get them both, they both get bit! I throw the 7" and the 9".
Bonesaw
i started with a black 9" slammer as one of my first baits. I now have a black and wood colored 9" slammer and 2 more 9" slammers. Getting a few more too probly. Great bait. Lots of big (and some smaller) bass on them. They all swim differently. 9" slammer is really not that big at all. If you bend it at the hinge and look at the circumference of it, 1.5 lbers have no problems hitting it. CHange the hooks and you are good to go. Gotten bit waking, cranking, deadsticking, twitching. Hard bait to lose too. well worth 40$. -Dave
blue duce
Use that 9" on 80lb braid you will love the action. candle wax the first 10"
FishDr
The 9" is my money bait - day in and day out (or day and night) I get more fish on the 9" original than anything else. The 7" isn't to be sneezed at though, because it also gets the fish. I'd get both.

evilcatfish
I've fished 7/9/mini and all have performed great. They take a little tuning but are worth it.
framedfinalboss
I just bought a 7' X2 and a 9". what does candle waxing your braid do?
Volfan
It keeps it high on the water and out of your hooks on the cast/retrieve.
wallyc
Thanks for the candle wax tip. I've been throwing Slammers for a couple years now, and, turning & fowling during the cast has always been frustrating. I'm a newby on this sight, but, I love that we all stick together by helping each other.
