Bassassin
Do the paint on the newer boards hold up better? My brother owned one from a couple years ago and the paint on the board was coming off pretty bad. Thinking about getting one. GoodVibez_TightLines
I had the red one and even had to use it as a paddle to row multiple times and I can say they hold up pretty well. there was some discoloration but the paint on the measurements never faded. theres some pics of the board for reference ps. I gave the board to my homie and after a slight coat of clear it went back to new RPReplay_Final1696178032.mov Edited December 17, 2023 by GoodVibez_TightLines SoFloW, Bassassin and BFZimm7 2
22RangerZ520R
I rinse and wipe mine down after every use. I also keep it in a custom made wrap. Zero issues... GoodVibez_TightLines, Bassassin and Rbalden
JacksonF
Just buy an aluminum Ketch board in whatever color you want, custom engraved if you want, and has a bump board for accurate measurements. No maintenance, no sealing of the wood, etc. I don’t understand for the life of me why these are popular swimb8bassin512, Whammy and Bmlum 2
chefchris
The new ones are stained and the colors run, I have yellow and blue one and any time it gets wet/rain/dew etc the color leaches out no significant but enough to tell the moisture on the board has changed color. I set my board out on the back seat before I make my first cast so I’m not fumbling around for it, when needed, and even just sitting on the deck the air moisture is enough to leach the color out. I sprayed mine with 2k automotive clear from Amazon and no issues anymore. Also have a wrap for it in the boat. Quinnadamss
