_nathanweber
I've had this reel for about a month and haven't actually fished it. spooled it up with line and casted a softbait into the snow just to get a feel of the reel and instantly once i started reeling in and pressure was applied, it started making this weird rubbing/friction based noise from the spool. anyone know what this is? There has been very few isolated cases of people having issues with either one. I've had my 2018 model for a few years now and it's been through hell and back without anything but regular cleaning. To me it sounds like it might be a spool bearing either going bad or already seized up. 717liprippers
It is probably a bearing. They are not as rigid as people think. The 18s hold water at times and need serviced along with bearing replacements. It’s common for the 18 Antares dc md. A lot of people have complained about the same issue _nathanweber
Ravelthus
I replaced my Antares DC MD 2018's spool bearings with Hedgehog Studio ZHi bearings 2 years ago once my stock bearings started screeching up. Haven't had any issues since. Service it once every 2-3 months religiously though. _nathanweber, Dink whisperer, 717liprippers and 1 other
