I went to Lake wilson with Chris a while back ago probably back in 2006 or so, and I brang some Custom 6.5" Bluegill swimbaits that I had a friend make, and was designed after the triple trout, and I brang all kinds of wake baits and such. And I had someone from another boat yell "This Aint the amazons! that dont work here!" And after we caught over 100 peacock on conventional gear I told him lets go where some bigger ones are, and Chris was hesitant about swimbaits and said Im not sure if those are going to work, but if you want to try them lets try. Sure enough i catch a largemouth bass, I had to do a figure eight and he ate it at the boat. Fished some more caught a few more largies, had some red devils try to eat the swimbait and then Caught some giant peacock bass and about another 5 or 6 peacocks until the swimbait broke LOL I used to live in hawaii, thats an awesome fishery, glad to see you had a great trip.
