swimfool
OK so I am wondering what kind of cable everyone is using to power there go pro. Batteries don't last as you know and I see everyone using some kind of cable. Can you post a link. Thanks in advance J
Spectrum
Go to a GoPro message board. You'll find all kinds of options from cigarette adapters, to battery eliminators, lithium battery packs and usb cables, lawn mower batteries, etc.
gradycodd
You can get a 4 pack of gopro batteries for 20-30$, I do fine with that but its personal preference you can always get a portable charger and take that route.

Approximately how many hours of video time would that give you?
vikingbear8
I get 2.5 hours per battery. 4 batteries plus the one that comes with the camera you are at 12.5 hours

Approximately how many hours of video time would that give you? That would depend on which model camera you're using, whether you're filming at 1080/60, 720/30, 2.7k/30, etc. ProTune or no? Wifi on or no? Lots of options. Higher frame rates typically burn up batteries faster. Higher resolution also. Wifi kills battery in my experience. Real world example, Hero3 Black @ 1080p/60fps, ProTune off, Wifi off, about 1:10 recording time. I burn two batteries to just about fill a 32gb card. vikingbear8
^^^^Yeah I should have mentioned all that too haha Im running Gopro Hero3+ silver 1080/30fps, but if you want any kind of decent slow mo type of thing you will need to running higher frames per second than that, and thus kill your battery faster. My video is just for me and a couple friends, nothing I ever want the public to see plus I'm not trying to make a Zack Snyder film so I don't do that
Londonmitch
I keep mine plugged in through a cigarette lighter on the boat and an invertor. Nightbite recommended this to me and am thinking about picking one up Poweradd Apollo $20 on Amazon and has multiple plug options

Mossypumpkin
I have the old a$$ model and I can connect two batteries right to the cam. Gives me like 3 hours recording time. I just turn it off when im moving or in unproductive water and it gets me thru most of the day. Thats probably 960 video tho.
Midsouth Swimbaits
Also remember if you are using the lcd backpack you will burn though batteries a lot faster.
