Rmoney15
yo. Moving from NY to Austin this month, hows the fishing around the city? Appreciate the insight! -Money
'Derrick Wallace'
Look up the video of Brandon Palaniuk landing the 12.4 on Lake Austin with a hudd. Lake Austin is one of the better share lunker lakes we have in the state. Share Lunker is a state managed breeding program where anglers who land a 13 pound fish can opt to turn the fish into the program and receive a mounted replica of it at no cost. Your moving to some excellent fishing area. Plus the mythical lake fork, lake falcon, sam rayburn, and toledo bend are all within a few hours. All those lake have a reputation for big fish. You should be pleasantly happy with fishing here over NY state.
Swimbait24/7
Yeah the above is true. I live in Austin, and am yet to land a big fish, but I've got some monster followers, and seen some monster fish. The fishing here is good to say the least. Spectrum
There aren't any. Academy or Dicks... There's a Gander Mountain that is pretty lousy compared to others. BPS opens sometime this summer in Round Rock if you're into paying 35% more just for fun, or Cabelas is a half hour south of town, where you can also go pay extra while being surprised at just how few things they carry you want to buy.
