tiger619
Im sure this question has been asked and answered but I can't get the search function to work so here it is. Do people change the hooks on the mothers?, also add split ring on the or snap for the line tie? thanks
thedonnguyen
Yes, people do change hooks. Definitely have to pay attention to the sink rate though because it's very sensitive. Split ring or snap is all personal preference gradycodd and jcolo4sho
mjaygrunt
Matt Magnone suggested that I keep my hooks and rings all stock (along with other members). I hate the hook rash I have with only 6 hrs of time on the lake. Sciaramitaro and gradycodd
tiger619
Thanks guys and ya I've thrown it for two 8 hour days with one fish and it's already rashed up really bad
jcolo4sho
I keep mine stock hooks but add a feather and extra split ring on the front only. I also use a split ring with an owner #5 solid ring for the line tie so I don't have to worry about my line slipping in the split of the ring. I learned that from JDukkes. MadMike
Do you guys put extra super glue on the tail or leave as is. jcolo4sho
jcolo4sho
Yes. I take the silencers off. Reglue them back on with loctite. And then I do the same with the tail. If you don't. You will lose them quicker than you think. gradycodd, Lewisr23 and Xtiaan
mjaygrunt
Use the gel type because the liquid will run all over the place. Make sure you address any chips on the paint too. Tbernz
gradycodd
Yup, the tail definitely needs some glue, and the silencers need some love as well. As for hooks, I have yet to try any others, but plan to play with some larger sized hooks in the future, lighter wire but larger gap, if I can't see my hooks looking down from the top of the bait, they are too small in my opinion. Hookup/ fish landed ratio with stock hooks on a mother is just embarrassing. Lewisr23, thedonnguyen and jcolo4sho

Swimbait24/7
Speaking of hook gaps, Bassindon69 uploaded a video on YouTube which addressed the stock hook gaps on the 250s for the same reason as above. His solution is pretty cool and could be useful to you guys...
