Sciaramitaro
The past couple couple have been super super slow for me. I've been on fish but nothing over 4 1/2 pounds. It's been so hot and the water temps are basically boiling. A cold front came through last night finally and when I got on the water this morning it was 55 degrees. It wasn't calm at all for 5 am, threw the slammer for a bit with no luck. So I decided to tie on my gantarel, I've never thrown it but I'm glad I did today! I was fishing mainly parallel with the shoreline when I came up to a down tree. I threw it over the back side of the tree and slowly dragged it over the first branch and then bam, the fish smashed it. Regardless, the slump is broken and it feels damn good! She went 6lb 14oz. northeast_trev, anglr420, NorCalBass and 9 others

lmv_bassfishing
I'd be willing to bet you're gonna throw the Gantarel a little more! Sciaramitaro
Sciaramitaro
ehhh, just because I caught a nice one on it doesn't mean its going to be my go to. Just a bait in the right spot at the right time, good bait for sure but who knows if she would have taken anything else? lmv_bassfishing

waynem
That's the way to bust a slump. That one colder day got the fish moving for sure. I got a couple of 4s that day and a 5-7 but nothing in the class of your fish. I'd trade a whole bunch of 4's & 5's for one like your 6-14. Congrats!
