bigpoppabass Posted January 27, 2016 Report Share Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) Actually the Whopper Plopper type of bait with the spinning tail section was first made in 1918 by CC Roberts Company as the Mud Puppy. Fishermen have always been a pretty inventive bunch. Cool bait, yes hi fin improved on that and designed the teaser tail shape that dahlberg copied for the plopper. I never bought one of those mud puppies, they detach on impact i think...hi fin model made a ton of money for em and they had a good run...
