northeast_trev
those look like they would get crushed. the scales came out great. How does the 3pc swim? danthefisherman and lendaCew
danthefisherman
Thanks! The three piece swims a lot better than I expected even though I haven't tampered with it all that much yet. I'm also planning to make some sinking models and will try to score some Clear Lake bass next month.

danthefisherman
so...took them out for another test run today. Lost one on the floater and scored two on the sinking model. My very first actual swimbait fish! So stoked! swimbaitman, YELOSUB, Rogervang and 2 others

jacksonwhite12
I know this is probably a very rookie question, but I am very new to making my own baits and would love for some tips to do so. What material did you use to make the molds, and what did you end up pouring in the molds to make the baits? The ones you made are gorgeous! danthefisherman
Thanks Jackson!I used Smooth-On Oomoo 30 Silicone Rubber Compound to make the mold and pour Alumilite White Amazing Casting Resin into it to make my baits. Although it probably makes more work for me, I made a mold of the lure as a whole (w/out joints) so that I could experiment with joint number and placement later. As you can see, I just cut straight joints though, so it isn't too hard. The bait isn't that big, maybe 4.5 inches or so? They are all wire-through baits.Hope this helps! jacksonwhite12

danthefisherman
Threw out my floater when the wind died and got crushed by this 16.5 incher on a super slow retrieve. Not too big, but at least I know that they work! bassboy
danthefisherman
Had a little time on my hands...here's the whole, updated family including a pink moderate sink and two more slow sinkers in ivy green and black sea bass patterns. So excited to put these up to some Clear Lake bass soon! swim16 and bassboy
