ZachB
What would be the better rod for wake jrs, dobyns 795 or 806?
YELOSUB
I would think the 795 being the wake jr weighs just a hair over 3oz...
ZachB
I know the champion is a much better rod than the fury but action wise are they similar? Edited May 16, 2016 by ZachB
YELOSUB
I have (2) Champions, an 806 and an 867...I also have the Fury 795 and for the money the Fury is tough to beat...I say get the Fury 795, I think you will be quite happy with it... northeast_trev
kahai808
i got both rods. I prefer using the 806 for the wake jr. ill throw the baby wake on the 795 sometimes. biggfeast

wayniac316
I throw the wake jr. on the 807 just my personal preference/opinion Ever since the release of the 867 i dont even use the 806 anymore their all great swimbait rods though The wake jr is to heavy to throw on 795 despite the rod rating Infidel
ZachB
Yea I held my buddies 795 fury today and it didn't seem like it would handle the wake jr all that great.
kahai808
Well there's your answer, he owns more wakes than anyone hahahah! Ill throw the wake jr on the 867 too. sometimes im to lazy to bring my other rods. Really though of all my dobyns rods my 806 felt the best for me throwing the wake jr and baby wakes. nothing saying you cant throw them on a 795. SKSlide
I throw the baby wake on the Fury 795 easily. Please don't think the Fury isn't a good rod because of the lower price point. I am going to buy more of them when I can. They are sweet rods. If the Wake Jr is in the 3 oz range the Fury will throw it very well. But if you want the Champion 795 it will do the job as well. I've owned both. I'm sure the other Dobyn's rods mentioned will throw it well also. Just decide based on your collection of baits and what you need to throw them effectively. I agree 100% the 806 is much better for the wake Jr. The 795 will do it but not nearly as enjoyable to throw on it as it is the 806. kahai808
