Was watching the movie Moneyball last night with the wife and drinking some wine. Its about how the A's back in the early 2000's had to change the way they thought to be competitive in the majors, think outside the box and what not. Throughout the whole movie I was drawing comparisons to swimbaiting. Anyways, if you see it, we are the fat nerdy guy. lol.

The book was one of my all time favorites. I can't say how many times I've read it. I was surprised how much I liked the movie though.

The basic ideas apply to a lot of things in life. If you're willing to look at things a little differently than everyone else, you might just have some success... And being a finance guy, it's in my opinion at least the best book there is on the subject, all the baseball stuff aside. I'm a big fan of Michael Lewis though, a big baseball fan too, and a nerd with numbers.

I'm gonna have to check out the book. I don't know, maybe I associated the success of the characters in the movie with my success in using swimbaits in bassfishing. Had a few run ins with skeptics, some rough stretches at first and then some success.

I can see how you could draw a parallel between this and that. Its all about not doing things just because its the way theyve always been done, but being willing to take a new approach, accepting the risk in hopes of a bigger reward. Great book, great movie, at least for a baseball geek like me
