FishDr
After a string of less than memorable night outings, where I was lucky if I landed 1 or 2 bass, I finally had a good one a couple of nights ago. I landed 8 bass to 3 lbs, and then, when I saw/heard a boil about 30' off the shoreline, I threw the Slammer at it, cranked it down, and was rewarded with my first walleye of the fall. Not a giant (about 22"), but definitely welcome. There'll be more trips in the near future for sure! She did not make it to the fryer - the walleye in this lake are hot with mercury. It's all C&R for me there - I don't want to have my kids grow an extra arm and I don't need any more brain damage than a love of barley pop has already given me. gradycodd, everythingthatswims, danthefisherman and 2 others
yev14
Well done, I remember your post from last year when you got several walleye on the Slammer. They seem to feed on the surface more in Colorado than they do here in NY.

FishDr
Walleye are some of my favorite fish to catch. Do you catch them often on Slammers? Not very often - I had one night last fall when I had 3 in a short period, and then no others on the Slammer. The one I mentioned above hit a cranked Slammer - didn't kill it on top. I have spent 100s of hours throwing Slammers in lakes with 'eyes, and other than those two incidents, I've never hooked an 'eye on them. I have taken a couple of 'eyes on floating 8" BBZs and 8" Hudds, but the majority of my big 'eyes are on the ROF5 Hudd. everythingthatswims and Luke1046
