D.Harper603
Bought a lathe a few weeks ago and finally got it all setup with a dust collection system. Made my first bait on it yesterday and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. This one is made out of basswood. Bait is around 6 inches long not sure of the weight yet but it's still not 100% done but I figured I'd post my progress and see what everyone thought. I am wondering what type of sealer anyone is using on their wood baits. fishinpunk, Willluvstafish, Bassin207 and 1 other

surfk9
Derek, for a sealer coat iv'e used Devcon 2 Ton epoxy thinned out with denatured alcohol it will flow easy & give a good seal. you will have to rig a turner to allow the epoxy to dry evenly. Before painting it hit it with some fine grit sandpaper to roughen it up paint away... then put another coat of epoxy (minus the alcohol)...good source for this info is tackleunderground... Bait looks great!!! Edited January 15, 2017 by surfk9 D.Harper603 and Lakeshark

HelpMePickABobber
You have a list started yet? I'll put myself on it for one. Same here. I'd try one as well as long as it's not priced like a Pat's. D.Harper603

Appreciate all the good words fellas. I may need a few guys to test them out for me as the water is pretty hard up this way right now largemouth and PNW bass

tHeINFamoUS
Good stuff!! Turning is one of the most functional art forms that you can pick up. Wood lathe is definitely on my list of tools to acquire lol.
