Broomstick bait

Bought a lathe a few weeks ago and finally got it all setup with a dust collection system. Made my first bait on it yesterday and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. This one is made out of basswood. Bait is around 6 inches long not sure of the weight yet but it's still not 100% done but I figured I'd post my progress and see what everyone thought. I am wondering what type of sealer anyone is using on their wood baits.

Derek, for a sealer coat  iv'e used Devcon 2 Ton epoxy thinned out with denatured alcohol it will flow easy & give a good seal.

you will have to rig a turner  to allow the epoxy to dry evenly. Before painting it hit it  with some fine grit sandpaper to roughen it up paint away... then put another coat of epoxy (minus the alcohol)...good source for this info is tackleunderground... Bait looks great!!!

Haha I don't have a list going. Didn't know I'd have any interest in anyone wanting their own! Appreciate all the good words fellas. I may need a few guys to test them out for me as the water is pretty hard up this way right now

I'd like to buy one from you if you decide to make a few available. (And you should let your first run customers pick the color) :)
