YELOSUB
And Saguaro Lake doesnt even hold the biggest bass in AZ. I'm sure Tim would agree on that lol I agree...And Saguaro had a fish kill (golden algae) some time ago so I'm very surprised that if the story is true that a fish of this magnitude was caught... For you AZ anglers you better hope this isn't true...gonna have people from all the world taking over your lakes before you know it...jeesh. If it is true, congrats to whoever the hell caught it

marc626
I used to live in the area years back. A friend of mine and myself saw a dead bass that was in the 15 pound class in the coves far back. There are definitely toads for sure there but the weather just gets to damn hot to fish. Campobassmaster
I saw someone say World records need to be autopsied. So why did Cody Meyer's Spot not get Autopsied???????? Ruef_Top

jcolo4sho
Here is the real scoop dudes and dudettes. As of today the true info came out. Yes. There was a decent size fish caught on a Shad at Saguaro lake. Rumors stormed as the person who caught it obviously does not know the true weight of a good size fish and thought it looked to be a possible state record. NOT a world record as some had mentioned. It was a bucket fisherman using a live Shad post spawn fish and I've seen the pictures and it looks to be around 9-11lbs if even that. My first thought was around 10 and no more. His length dimensions were off and didn't know how to measure girth and didn't have a scale. So after info surfaced about the inflated length people started to assume it was of a higher caliber fish. I personally have not heard of a legit teener being caught at Saguaro or canyon lake in 6 yrs. so to think a world record being caught is ridiculous. Double digits are even tough to come by here nowadays. Crazybassfisher, danthefisherman, IsaacM619 and 9 others
marc626
Glad to hear if true. That was going to be my secret for retirement. I know for sure there are fish bigger than 9lbs that there. The bluff walls in the back are way too deep and the bass are damn near impossible to be caught in there. bigpoppabass
