Dsouth
Instead of busting my butt dragging my ice-fishing sled through 2’ plus of fresh snow I decided to hit the road for a quick NY steelhead fix with my friend Woodtail Joe. Fished a full day Saturday + Sunday we decided to fish till 10:30 and drive home. All and all a fun time with 15 Steelhead landed along with another 15 plus lost in battles. Weather was cold with am temps on Sat am around 5 degrees but warmed up to the mid 20s with lake effect snow all-day long, Sunday was much warmer in the am with temps around 20 degrees. We had 10" of snow Sat + another 10" Sat night and as we left Sunday it was snow 2" pre hr.

I haven't had any monsters at that river, but have been into them pretty good in my local ditches. how are you fishing for them? I'm pinning with beads, flies, and eggs. Jtelarkin08
I would have gotten frost bite. Ha. It's been in the 30s here in texas the last week or so and I have been frozen. Finally back into the 60s now. Great looking fish. That would be fun

BTW it's snowing again here in New england. I'm getting ready to move to NJ The word on the street is the 10lb LM are starting to feed. boomah21
Yeah I know of guys that catch some big steelhead on the great lakes with plugs...Might just have to give that a try....they already gorge themselves on the alewife population.
