Shimano77
After reading different views on gear ratios, I'm still deciding which reel. I'll be throwing reps 250, rising sons, and bull shad/freestyle shad. Really wanting the 2018 conquest with 6.2 gearing. Will these gears be adequate? It seems some prefer faster, especially with the glides..?
kscatman76
I know with the bullshad in the summer I flat burn it on the surface about as fast as I can reel. I went with a 6:3:1 reel when I bought a new one recently cause I felt like I could fish that slow enough if I needed to with a hudd or fast enough with a bull shad if I needed to. just kind of felt it as a decent all around option for me personally. dylan628
go with the fastest gear ratio you can get. You can always slow down if you need
MA Frog Man
Using IPT will give you a more accurate comparison of reels than using gear ratio.
Shimano77
I'm pretty set on getting a 2018 conquest reel with the new gearing. Hopefully it will get the job done. Edited April 10, 2018 by Shimano77
