mike h
I wanted to mold one of my most successful glide baits which is a 10” skipjack herring. Rather than mold the current bait, decided to build a new one from scratch and make it more detailed. This one will be around 10-inches as well. I took some pics of the progression for those interested in that process. after building several s glides over the years, the 10-inch size is the sweet spot for me. Have a look at the original and the latest pics. It has some work left to go. Lots of sanding and priming, etc. I will mold it whole and probably add scales at some point. mike h
The molding begins. Spent over an hour getting this clay tucked around it. Got my legos from the Disney LEGO store a few years back. Great investment. using some Mold Max 30 from Smooth On. The Oomoo is way too brittle. danthefisherman
Might have to try the Mold Max... let me know how it goes please!
mike h
I’ve used it. It’s more flexible and does not tear up as easily. Takes longer to cure but who cares. I let it set up overnight.
