Ktc016
Just a simple question I have about hudds. When do you BB rig it and when do you keep jighook. and also do you throw it on a different rod or the same. and lastly, does the bb rig work with the 6 inch/ 68 or is it better for the 8 and 10? TNswimbating
I like the jig hooks when bottom bounce and the BB rig when fishing a little faster buttttt the jig hook and BB rig are both great for bottom bouncing. I would prefer BB rig if I had to choose one.
pickle
Open the package and fish the lure as is with the jig hook, no need to get fancy. My humble opinion. basskickinrednick, thastickybandit and castandblast
Nick S.
Fish it stock until the jig hook breaks and then B.B. rig it. I fish them on the same rod. Or if you get drunk and bored, you can cut off perfectly good jig hooks and B.B. rig everything haha. Edited November 29, 2018 by Nick S. mcclovinfishing
This thread LOL! For the 8” I don’t do anything to the hook but bend it up a little bit. Most of the time the fish going after the 8” engulf it. I add a small trailer hook for my 68 because I get a lot of tail biters up north and I hate breaking off tails. Any issues tying the stinger line directly to the jig hook? I was wondering about that recently Tried it with braid?

Nothing should happen if you keep tension on the line while reeling in. I have tried it with braid, but it’s just personal preference in using mono with a little bit of superglue on the knot SumoNinja

SethMuffinson
Seconded on 68 trailer. Usually do some 80lb single strand wire tactical bassin style. (From jigghook to before the skinny part of the tail) and run a small treble. Like size 4 or so.
GrantA
To answer your question you absolutely can BB rig the smaller hudds but for me it makes the bait run sideways especially on the hudd 68 in rof 5. Nothing a nail weight couldn't fix though.
