VolunteerSwimbaits
Thought I would share the process of building of my bait. It all started back in December as a "winter project"... I had an idea for a bass profile swimbait. I didn't know if I wanted a swimmer, or a glide, so I went with both. I finished up the master, and decided to go ahead and put some basic scaling details to help break up the pattern. I know was ready to mold the bait, so I prepared the mold for the resin... After the mold was complete, I made the educated decision to bend the hardware for ultimate strength. After about 3 failed pours, I finally had my first prototype, and of course I messed up the ratio of microballoons, and back to the drawing board... this went on for several days, of pouring, testing, and changing. Finally I had the first working prototype, which I was really happy with the glide and the action. After this I began to expand on my mold, and make other models. I found out by taking out a middle section, I was left with a perfect gill imitation! Now I make 3 different models, and each one is fine tuned to my liking. The gill runs 7" and 3 oz. While the full size is 8" and 4 oz. of course the inches and the ounces depends on the sink rate, and what model (glide or swimmer). The swim videos are below, Thanks! 168 Rookie, bchalk22, juice54 and 3 others
chefchris
awesome stuff man. that smallie pattern is on point i also think the way you left the master whole and then cut it is the way to go, especially for a new bait that you want to mess with, VolunteerSwimbaits

bigpoppabass
Bought this bait this winter and finally had a chance to test it. Has an easy glide that falls between an islide and 262. Bait checks out and is beyond legit. Just inquired about getting a couple more. Very easy working glide imo. Has a very slow sink I am not a fan of but have learned that baits that do that tend to work even better in traditional sb conditions with a chop on the water.
