Jacobp99
I just got a Low Down Custom rod 8ft XH and I’m not sure if I should pair it with a Tranx 300 or 400 ?
Niki814
I love my 400s cant go wrong with the extra lime capacity Jacobp99
carlsbadbassin89
Since it’s an XH, with the line you’re going to be using for those heavier baits, 400. Jacobp99
Tinos240
Id go with a 300 size on a 3-8oz xh rod Jacobp99
Badfish562
probably preference. just remember 400's have slightly better free-spool and the inches per crank changes more gradually on the retrieve with the 400 than the 300 does even though their gear ratio is the same. Would I still be able to throw smaller bait like the citizens and battle Shad ? Or does the reel size not matter ?
Csweitzer
I’d go with the 300, my 400 is a good pairing with my XXH LDC, but for my XH I would have gone with a 300. Badfish562
Niki814
I use a 400 on my f5 custom 8'5" 2-6oz with 20lb pline

Niki814
Not really. I haven't noticed to much of a difference between casting a 2oz bait or a 5oz bait. Jacobp99

Phiderman
If you prefer braid, get the 300. If you prefer fluorocarbon get the 400 Jacobp99

Bay Arean
300 would pair better with the xh for the 3-8oz baits.
Jerrystowing
300 is plenty..
