Custom XXH Swimbait Rod Build

Curious to see if any guys local in San Diego would be interested in trading a custom rod that I will make you, to your specs, for interesting swimbait gear. Mainly interested in the harder to find stuff (316 top hook 6”, 316 BAA, 316 wakes, interesting gill style baits, Deps 250, nicer reels maybe, etc...)

Pictures below are of the last one I made for myself with the same blank (got two of them) which is a Phenix model that was made for custom rod line for another maker. Specs: 8’-2”, 25-20lb line, 3-10oz

I use mine to throw the mother and now a bubba cracker and it tosses those fine, probably wouldn’t throw anything much bigger than mom on it though. Trade would be highly dependent on what sort of components go into the build and how intricate the thread work would be. Feel free to PM me if you have any interest. Also, the rest of my builds I’ve done for myself are posted in the “show off your swimbait setup” thread.

I might be able to make that work depending on how fancy you want the rod. Ive only got one blank available at the moment (the xxh) which would be on the heavy side for a 250. Ive thrown my 250s on it and it’ll launch them, but I think you’d be better off with something else a little lighter. My favorite 250 blank is a Phenix 809XHJ, and I’m thinking about making myself a 909XHJ (slightly heavier and 9’ vs 8’).

Just an FYI, all the components for a decent swimbait rod run me about $300 since I’m just a hobby builder so any trades would have to be in that neighborhood of value to start.
