Hello SU, I am trying to learn the I slide 262 and realize it’s very different from the Deps 250, it either bobs up and down or won’t glide out every time, just super inconsistent. I think the issue is the Indian not the arrow here and am wondering if anyone knows how to get it to glide out the full 22 inches it’s supposed to, for specs I’m using a megabass TS black MH 7’11” rod with a Lexa 300 and 20lb mono

I think Oliver Ngy has some youtube videos on it, but it doesn't work like a 250 or traditional glide. You're supposed to use the rod to impart action as well as the reel. Take care of the tail, they melt easily and are a pain to get.

I have made a big investment in 262s, and own 3 customs and others too. Yes a very weird bait. It has a crazy wobble at the end of glide, which is unique. But if you fish the vision 110 jerkbait you should be able to get it. It is more of a hybrid jerkbait glide bait combo. They are slow risers. A handle retrieve is all that is necessary with a pull here and there. Maybe try the 185 first to get the mojo going, but still the 262 is different than 185, which is more glider than jerkbait.  I also tend to  tie directly to bait but have a couple that like a snap. The tail has to be inserted by user and direction of keel is important. The top and bottom are not the same.  I have also played with shaving joint section like peeps do with swavers. It works but it is not necessary.
