Best time and place to fish a gill glide bait

When do you guys like to fish gill glide baits. I have a slyguy replica gill and I can never seem to get bit on it. I was wondering if it’s only a post spawn/ summer bait.

During the spawn or post spawn. Could only get bit on it when I saw the fish and I could make it react

I throw glides year round. Throw your gill when the gills are spawning, look for deep drops near the gill beds.

I fish 3 piece and gill glides most the year in rotation with soft swimbaits.  Late fall I lean harder on soft swimbaits.

I fish glide spring to fall . The condition have to be right also, I have the most success on swimbaits during windy and cloudy days. Never really on calm and sunny days unless before light or late afternoon.  Keep spending time on the water and it will come, can't force swimbaits on days they don't want it.

All glides work best with wind. Under calm conditions all you normally get are follows, and sometimes by a school of inactive bass. Most of my gill glide hits come twitching erratically  off of structure or weed edges - as if something spooked em. The sly guys are bulls so you might want to verify your fishery has bull gills in em.
