Streamer Posted July 9, 2020 Report Share Posted July 9, 2020 I took a trip to nantahala NC today to catch some wild rainbows, most of which smaller than the baits we throw to mimic them, and walked down to where the lake and river meet. I’m a fly fisherman before a swimbait fisherman but it’s hard to pass by schooling fish eating Shad. So I ran back to the car and grabbed the chadshad and took a few casts. Big difference from throwing #18 flies to a couple ounce bait lol. buzzed bait Posted July 13, 2020 Report Share Posted July 13, 2020 we had a little cabin over on Nantahala as a kid, beautiful over there! that water stays cold AF year round.... even in July/August my brother and I would cringe when we jumped in there it would be so freaking cold!
