479Swimbaiter Posted August 8, 2020 Report Share Posted August 8, 2020 Went on my 2nd Annual trip to fish the boundry waters near the border of Canada. Not a place typically known for trophy smallies but instead just numbers. I actually was more honed in on catching a 40" Northern Pike. Nonethless, I thought I'd bring some bigger baits to play with. Threw some 6" magdrafts, some S-waver 168's, and a rat in the tacklebox and called her good. First night I was chucking the s waver around behind our camp and landed an absolute unit. Wasn't prepared so length/weight unknown but gotta be around 20 or 21". Landed a total of 8 nice smallies in a week on S-wavers in the Abalone Shad and Terminator pattern. Ironically enough, they wouldnt touch rainbow trout colors or magdrafts, just those two.
