207klasher Posted September 2, 2020 Report Share Posted September 2, 2020 From what I understand, the air chamber is only there to help the fish collapse the bait around the hook. On the earlier versions without the head case the hook slot on the bottom of the air chamber was even bigger then the new versions. I don't think it was ever made to be air tight and I've never noticed a difference in the baits action with or with out water in the chamber.
