aippolito1955@gmail.com
Howdy, What experiences pro/con have you had with the tranx 200 and/or tatula 200? I live in southern Wisconsin and am a shore fisherman. Throwing baits in the range of Hud 68, 6' trash fish, S-waver 168, magdraft freestyle 6", gantrel jr. At this point, cannot see fishing above 8" or above 3.5 oz. For rods i have Dobyns fury 795 7'9" and Okuma Nomad express 7'11". Have been using a Quantum smoke 3 - don't laugh, I fish 4-5 times aweek and it has held up. Thanks e-squaredbassin

Drag is smooth but weak in my opinion but I mostly fish Abu Garcia’s so I probably just need to crank it down tighter.
GullysRR
After working on a fair share of reels, both are great and will do just fine for many anglers. If heavily used in salt, I would suggest the tranx 200 due to its bearing replacement with delrin material bushings to help with longevity in those type of applications. Otherwise, any reel you choose would do just fine for smaller swimbaits and freshwater. Both Tranx and Tatula come with a single cross carbon drag washer that I believe is sufficient for most peoples needs. Max drag on both reels is well over what you should be fishing on 15-20lb test. You could always run the cross carbon completely dry for those who like the no give drag setting. jmpatacsil

slimeking
Tranx are great reels but if your on a budget and throwing small baits the 200 tatula will do fine. I’ve got a tatula 200 on an irod swimbait jr and it’s a great small bait combo.
Harshwaters
I fish the the Tatula 200 on a Dobyns Fury 795. Also a bank fisherman,i have had no issues. Its spooled up with 20# Big Game and holds plenty of line. Smooth reel and feels very solid. Monka FP, Spro rat 50 , Robs glide and 7" Slammer are a few baits that i have thrown on it. Kyle1387
200 is great. Less drag but works fine. One thing is the twing will hurt you if you use leaders. Only issue I've had
chefchris
I have a 200 tatula that i fished a lot last season, it was my swimjig, frogging and small swimbait reel. Never had any issues, casted and performed great all season, would buy another one for sure
