jkarol24
Swimbait Review: LFOD Gill, Slim, and Munk What's up Universe. Happy Thanksgiving, I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend filled with family time and very full bellies. I'm traveling back from Florida so we will keep this write-up short and sweet. But first, let me express my thankfulness to all of you! The comments, pms, and continued support are extremely appreciated, and I thank you for going on this journey with me! I am also thankful for all of these awesome builders who continue to create baits that are both tools, and also pieces of functional art. A special thanks to all of the builders (like this LFOD video) who reach out, offer to lend out baits, give feedback and advice, and make my life a heck of a lot easier. Keep up the good work! Specs: Gill is 3.6oz - creeps as slow as you can reel on surface from slow creep to nice steady wake at about a medium speed. Walks in a head-turning manner with short rod twitches. Then cranks to about 2-3’ beyond that retrieve rate. Slim is 3.0oz - slower and tighter wake at a slow to moderate speed with rod tip up. Walks very easily with rod twitches, similar to the gill, and cranks to 4-6’ with rod tip down and medium to fast speed. Crank is tight and fluid, and maintains a very stable and true retrieve. Munk is 3.2oz - wakes at a slow to moderate retrieve, and walks in 180 degree turns with ease. The new version also cranks more consistently, and will get down about 2 ft or so on a medium length cast. I threw all of these baits on a Leviathan Heavy, paired with a Tranx 400 and 20 lb copoly. I also used a Decoy #5 snap to attach the baits. Thanks for joining, enjoy the video, and once again, Happy Thanksgiving! See ya next week!
