Thanks +1- Dr., Cam, Jason, any smallies on the tt?
colbypearson
Yea I have caught smallies on a TT no giants landed but I dumped a 6+ last June, 6'' and 7'' and I'm sure the 8'' and even the 10'' would work for that matter. Probably one of the best swimbaits to fit the "smallie style" of fishing, I should really learn to fish them better.
evilcatfish
I've caught some decent fish on the 6" size, nothing crazy but fish nonetheless.
evilcatfish
Also, I've been thinking about getting some replacement tails and dying them chartreuse/pink/orange and using them in waters with lots of smallies. There have been times when I've been fishing a natural colored soft plastic in clear water (Ie a pumpkin colored tube) and couldn't get bit, but by dipping the end in some bright colored dye I'd get more strikes. I assume this could work on a TT....????
Chase bait
Yeah I was just wondering. I live in northern utah and the lakes I fish are mostly smallmouth. Is there any swimbait that is good for smallmouth fishing? I have caught them on skinny dippers and what knot but wanted to try a more full body swimbait. The Real Prey alewife has been hands down the best smallie swimbait I've ever used. Catches numbers and size while being more durable than any other soft swimbaits, due to its silicone material If you like chin fat to go along with tail fat..... For topwater and night applications the 3:16 Freestyle Shad is always tied on and ready to go
