FLEA ADDICTION
I would suggest changing hooks also. I use Owner stx-58tn 3x 2/0. I have landed about a dozen bass (3-14lbs) on the slide swimmer. I have lost a few fish but nothing that was hooked more than 3 seconds. Many people lose fish because they lift the rod too early for the net etc.. I've lost about 1/3 of the bass that I've hooked on the Hudd but I think two big strong trebles on a bait help a lot. Bumpererx
I used to fish the xxh for all my larger trebled baits and heavier soft baits but the xxh parabolic has totally changed the game. Just like Chris said, the xxh parabolic is the best rod for the 250 slide and any of the larger trebled baits. I noticed the number of fish that come undone on the parabolic go way down. I dont usually completely button down my drag though if that makes a difference to anyone. Rod works great for the smaller baits too! Hands down my new favorite rod in my arsenal!
