Brand New Juvi Gill UFO shallow Crankdown for trade plus cash for Mothership or mini
Phil A. and 9 others reacted to SVT THUNDER for a topic
Have a brand new 6” shallow crankdown in Bassjak Juvi Gill that’s just not getting used. I have a variety of crankdown UFO’s and I’ve just never thrown this one. Looking for another Mothership or Mini plus some cash on my end. I’m in no rush to move this bait. It’s not missing any paint at all. Hooks have always had covers on them. Please don’t PM me with any baits other than UFO’s. And no, I won’t sell it. Thanks.10 points -

Been out twice This year and the first time I stuck a solid 20 incher and was pumped. second time out windy as hell 40 degrees and sprinkling out. Cold out and my favorite conditions. Fishing a tiny klash dead walking it around wood in the main lake. Early in the day hooked a probably 17 incher and she shook it. A hour lake in a small bay caught a 18 incher which I was happy with. 10 yards away on another big piece of timber threw the tiny klash in and twitched it 3 times and saw her smoke the klash. Pretty close to the boat so I flipper her in. Didn’t have a scale so I measured length and girth. She was 20 inches long and 17.5 inches round. So I looked it up on a bass weight calculator and it came to about 6 pounds. Absolute tank and couldn’t be more stoked. My goal the past few years had been a 6 pounder and I got it.2 points -

Lanciotti Psycho Trout 2 pc
jmpatacsil and one other reacted to jkarol24 for a topic
Swimbait Review: Lanciotti Lures Psycho Trout 2 Pc The new style 2 pc Psycho Trout by Lanciotti Lures is a single joint resin Wake n Crank style bait, featuring a lexan bill and soft plastic tail. The new version has been refined with the help of Row Innovations, and comes in at 3.2 ounces and 6.75" in length. I start off with a medium-slow retrieve, which allows the bait to stay on the surface and display a waking-style action. This action is defined by a hard back and forth head hunt, which causes the rear of the back to swing back and forth, while rotating slightly. The rear of the bait gains further action due to a super soft tail, which kicks and sways in a natural action that disturbs the surface of the water. A defined wake is seen, as the head pushes water creating a bulge along with the V wake trailing the bait. As well, I noticed some resin clicking noise as the two halfs of the joint collide. I then slowed down to a crawl, and the Psycho Trout continued to maintain its head hunt and tail kick, albeit slightly more subtle and tight. Because the tail is oversized and floppy, it has a good bit of drag, which results in the tighter action. The crawl certainly produces a subtle action, with less of that defined wake, but both are still present. I had no issue maintaining this action at a snails pace, and noticed that the bait transitioned easily between the faster and slower retrieve. I then walked the bait, and found that slightly easier inputs produced the most consistent back and forth action. On harder hits, the bill tends to catch a bit too much water, and this results in less consistency. However, the easier rod tip bumps will get the Psycho Trout turning back and forth in 180 degree intervals without much practice. I was also able to increase my cadence and move the bait along at a quicker pace, so long as I was mindful of the power behind those short and fast bumps. The walk itself is full of action, but the presence on the surface is subtle, with minimal splash and commotion. Last, I cranked the Psycho Trout down. First, I utilized a medium retrieve, and then I also burned the bait. These faster retrieves cause the bait to crank down approx 3 ft. At both speeds, I noticed that the head hunt became even more aggressive, with a fast back and forth action with minimal roll. You can feel a thump all the way back to the rod, and that head action really throws the rear of the bait. Again, the soft tail provides a natural kicking action, and the overall action is as wide as the wake, if not even a little wider. I was able to burn the bait without any issue, and the Psycho Trout maintained stability, without and blowouts, leaning, or pulling to one side. I chose a Levaithan Heavy, paired with a Curado 300E and 20 lb Copoly. If you intend to only crank down, fluro would be a nice option, and you may get another foot or two of depth as well. Mono would certainly be fine as well, especially if you're working the bait close to the surface. Braid would also be fine, just be mindful of not overworking the bait on the walking retrieves. Thanks for joining, and I hope you enjoy the video! More reviews coming soon!2 points -

5-13 personal best. (Previous was 5-4) on a psycho gill. Really worked for this fish. Ended up breaking off on another 4ish fish a few cast later and watched her swim away with my PG in its mouth. Buddy of mine found the gill a day later. Thank god. Tight lines IMG_3695.MOV1 point -

It’s not cracked…it’s split down the seam from the heat bloating the plastic. Likely won’t swim with that much deformation. My guess is even if sealed, it will roll onto its side with the belly so swollen.1 point -

There’s plenty of info on which lenses are “more appropriate” for differing conditions, but I’ve always just worn what was most enjoyable to me. generally speaking though, darker lenses such as grey are better for higher intensity light (bright sunny days, offshore, etc.) lighter colors such as yellow and amber are more suited towards lower light conditions, often enhancing color and outlines to help identify under water objects and fish more clearly. They’re also really handy in the morning and evening hours Throw a mirror finish on top to reflect more of the suns rays as well if you’d like, or so you can stare at chicks at the beach without looking like Uncle Creeper And if all else fails, just get Pit Vipers and send it1 point -

Having a tough season so far, I managed a respectable NJ Largemouth. With a mission on my mind, I visited a small lake I haven't gone to in a long while. But I felt confident it would produce for me. Casting to a small lilly pad point with the Spro Rat, and waiting for the ripples of the water to subside, this bass slurped up the bait and loaded up the rod. She’s not much, still a beauty of a bass, but more importantly it felt good to finally get one. Hopefully this will be a turning point for me this season. Thank you for your time.1 point -

Has anyone seen or tried the new rayban sunglasses that have the built in camera? I’m curious how those work1 point -
Funny everyone thinks a wake bait is just that, Far from the truth.... A good wake bait usually is difficult to build and are usually one step from being a paper weight. In my opinion people don't give the builders the credit they deserve for the time and effort they put into Building a good true wake. Good for you taking the time to build it and make it work! Now put in the rest of the work, testing, give away baits for testing, address all problems in 1st thru 15th design and then start posting the fish caught on your baits. GIVE'M HELL!1 point

@aidanbourassa that’s awesome. You’re about 20 years ahead of everyone else. It’s cool that you guys are making baits. If it has good action that’s awesome. Figure out WHY. Apply it to your next build. Like I said, I’m all for you guys. I wish I had the wherewithal at 13 to do what you guys are doing. But you’re a long way from selling these creations. Sorry if I was harsh but it’s honest feedback. If you don’t get honest feedback you’re not going to grow. You can start by doing some more research. There is a plethora available here in grassroots and YouTube. Good luck.1 point
