Win Butch Brown's "Swimbait 24/7" Boat
Dink whisperer and 4 others reacted to swimbaitunderground for a topic
Swimbait Underground and Butch Brown @swimbait 24/7 have teamed up to build an exact replica of Butch's legendary big bass boat. He spent hundreds of hours building a 2022 version of his 1966 Alumacraft. It has been rebuilt 5 times over the years. Improved on each time, this is the 6th and greatest version. All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to Southern California Charity Tilt Outdoors. Tilt is an outdoor adventure program that provides intentional experiences in nature that lead to transformation in the lives of youth in high-risk situations. https://shop.swimbaitunderground.com/pages/win-butch-browns-boat5 points -
Glide Bait Flurry
azfisher and 4 others reacted to porkmeatballs for a topic
Well it's been a while since I posted here. A few months ago I got onto quite a few fish using my glide. On one particular day I got up to thirty-five followers ranging anywhere between 1-6 pounds for the largies and up to 4 pounds for the spots. I was absolutely mind blown because I had never seen so many fish follow a swimbait in a single day! I got a number of bites, and while I did catch a few of the smaller ones, the majority (which were spotted bass) would simply slap my bait without fully committing. Most of the largies seemed to only commit when they were in wolf packs and had to compete for my glide. Although many of the fish that I actually landed were quite small, I had a blast getting this much swimbait action over a few days! I also managed to fool this striper as a bonus fish5 points -

SU Wade Hoggs Chunk
azfisher and 2 others reacted to Bass the east for a topic
Tried to get out earlier in the day but 40mph gusts made it too difficult. The wind finally died down enough around 4:30 to get across the lake. I was cranking down the OG Wade Hoggs and this fish softly bumped the bait about 3 times with no hookup. The next cast I hooked up. It was a very light strike and she just got one rear treble. My F5 Custom MH kept it pinned well.3 points -

I just heard from one of my best friends (the guy who got me into swimbait fishing) who lives in the St. Petersburg area that they are either now under or are about to be under a mandatory evacuation notice because of Hurricane Ian. He and his family are heading out and have somewhere to go, but it's definitely a pucker factor situation. I hope that the SU community and their friends/families in the potentially affected areas of Florida (and states to the north) stay safe over the next few days.3 points

Scored a few wood rats for myself and a few for gifts for some friends to test out. These hand carved wood rats from @topbananalures on IG have an incredible wake and that clack you can only get from wood. Unfortunately, I’ve really only had a chance to test swim them and they definitely wake beautifully, track straight and have a nice subtle clack that only a wood bait will give you, cast very well and the hook placement is excellent at they don’t get married or catch on the bill or the mainline. Soon as I get a chance to fish them I’ll update the post and hopefully have some decent catches with them. In the meantime here’s some sweet swim videos from @Topbananalures Finally, the price point on these rats is incredibly affordable so if you’re interested reach out to Daniel - his quality and service are rock solid. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CiqA8DdrdCa/?igshid=NjZiMGI4OTY= https://www.instagram.com/reel/Chc-MiHFcV_/?igshid=NjZiMGI4OTY= IMG_0218.MOV IMG_0219.MOV2 points

Went out and caught the incoming tide this morning. Caught a good one on the Small Mouth special (Calico Killer) but the fish didn't play that. First fish on the lure BTW. Caught on a st.croix 8'11 legends tournament mf flip and pitch stick ( my go to for hardbaits).2 points

836 Bucca Bullshad rod
WadeInTheWater and one other reacted to Mossypumpkin for a topic
I have 3 of them now and have been fishing them for a year. Hands down my favorite rod. I currently have champion xp series with multiples in some of the 794, 795, 796, 806, 807, 867, and 908. As well as a custom xxh rod. I would say the quality is that equal to a champion. The length is perfect where ot doesn’t feel too long and bulky, but you definitely notice the extra length over an 8’. It may not be QUITE as versatile as the 867 but it’s dang close and within its range, it does better than the 867, imo. It has more backbone than the 867, so when you hook up you feel like you’re getting a better hookset, especially on long casts. I don’t personally use it for soft baits, but should do fine with top hook and line thru baits. It doesn’t cut it for me with weedless hudds. So it excels as a hard bait rod in the 2.5/3-8oz baits. Those are realistic weights. Specific baits are irrelevant. As long it’s a hard bait in that range this rod throws them well. Sweet spot would be 3-6.5oz I’d say. I think if you toss any mid size to bigger baits it’s a must have rod2 points -

A day of firsts
SoCalBassBum reacted to Whatthebass for a topic
This was definitely a day of firsts. First fish on 2 of the rods I built, first 2 fish on my kayak, and first fish on these particular baits that I just got not too long ago. The DRT K9( built a rod specifically for it) and the TK. Weather finally changed here in central cali and we got some rain. This particular day, Tuesday, was absolutely gorgeous, perfect, and set up nicely. The boat traffic disappeared, the water temps dropped, and it seems the fish are finally getting into their fall pattern. I think lol came up on this small stretch of shoreline that always looked fishy as f**k to me and I just had this feeling. You guys know what I’m talking about. Made a cast with the K9, worked the bait back to the yak with no takers, wind kind of drifted me to a slightly different angle in the same exact area, made the cast, worked the bait, got HAMMERED! Set the hook and the fight was on. At first I wasn’t sure how big she was but a few seconds and runs later, I realized She wasn’t a rat. She fought hard but I got her in the net and in the yak. I wish I had taken better pics and got one with the rod in it but I was so juiced I couldn’t think straight. This is my biggest fish in a long long time. It was fun and can’t wait to stick another. The other fish, well it was a dink and I was just casting and cranking and it ate the TK lol you guys tell me what you think she weighs, my dumb ass didn’t have a scale. I’m thinking 6, maybe 7 but not sure. She was definitely bigger than that second picture makes her look.1 point -

Traveling Travel 1pc

Mailbox was lit up today with the Swimbait Underground / Sac Pig Traveling Travel 1pc. It’s first stop is in the Garden State of New Jersey. A very compact bait compared to its 1pc Mischief big brother. During the livestream, the paint scheme was in question, but it turned out phenomenal, especially with October and Halloween right around the corner, it’s perfect. Now the fun starts, gotta stick a big one on it! As always, Michael loads up the bait for travel, with extra tails and stickers for all:1 point -

50 Shades of UFOBAITCO
vidrine3 reacted to GoodVibez_TightLines for a topic
i’ve purchased multiple baits from UFO and have never had any hiccups with any of my orders. have i had to wait on some PREORDERS? sure (only took 2 weeks after scheduled date), but that’s something im fully aware of when purchasing a yet to be made item. every bait that he makes takes hours and hours of work and dedication so that the bait performs to its name (and none of you cant say shiiit about the bait because we all know it catches fish) and unlike hinkle or other makers ufo always communicates with his customers and either tries to make it right or offers a refund (try to get a refund from hinkle or fish everything). to each their own but UFO will always have my support.1 point
