  1. Daiwa coastal 200 is my favorite reel for 4 oz lures and under. I have 3 of them and use them for everything from swimbaits to saltwater fishing. Tatula 300 is for my big soft baits and glides over 4 oz. Great reels not 1 complaint
  2. You kill it on that wake jr, NY fishing is really crazy. Congrats
  3. TK is tough to get to glide properly. it’s easier with braid or lighter line. I fish it on 20 lb CXX and really should be throwing it on 15 lb but I use the same rod for the K9. To glide the TK you have to impart precise, staccato handle turns. I start the turn of the handle quickly and stop as soon as I feel the weight of the lure turn. It feels like a subtle thump. It helps to hold the handle knob very gently, mainly because it lets you feel the little thump the TK makes when it’s gliding back and forth properly. If you don’t feel that little bump every time you turn the handle your cadence is off. Best way to learn is by getting some clear water, put a tracer on the back of the bait, and watch it as you work it. Once you get the cadence down you can do it without seeing the bait just off feel.
  4. @Jinxd12 Gill is also a pond killer
  5. Shell cracker g2 is a killer pond bait
  6. I use my older swimbait rods for saltwater. Dobyns fury 806 is a surprisingly good striper rod.
  7. Dobyns 867 for local pickup in central NJ. I’m willing to meet you half way up to 2 hour drive. Message me if interested. $200. Rod is in great shape. Neoprene cover will come with rod. Have about 5 fish on it. Just looking to get some money back to put towards some saltwater gear. If you want to pay for shipping I’ll drop the price to $180. No trades. If you want more pics lemme know.
  8. Same thing happened to mine. I literally put my lips up to the line tie and sucked the water out. Once it was all out I sealed it with epoxy. No leaks anymore.
  9. I’d recommend the Tatula 300 6.3. It’s a good all around gear ratio for swimbaiting and casts very well. It will handle the range of baits you mentioned and has the external braking dial which makes it very easy to swap between different size/weight lures. You have to pop off the side plate to adjust brakes on the Tranx. 20 lb CXX will handle that range of baits well. I do prefer 25lb for a 250 slide swimmer but 20 will work fine.
  10. Great fish gantarel is a great bait
  11. Caught a lot of big fish on this same bait, glws
  12. I’m starting to think we’ll see guys wearing some sort of AR style goggles / glasses with the way it’s going. You could have all your screens on the ar goggles while keeping your posture normal and watching your line as well. With the way technology is advancing and being adopted by the fishing world, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see that sooner than later.
  13. I prefer to fish the K9 like a glide with no lip tail down. You can walk it back and forth like a dead walk but has a wider glide especially if you add weight under the nose
  14. Sounds like a pretty sweet rod. you try throwing a 250 on it?
  15. He doesn’t sell extra eyes on his site anymore ?
  16. Rat and crawler, they’re too fun to not have any. Magdrafts are also a key bait I don’t see hangin.
  17. 795 is awesome rod for the trick Shad. It’ll throw 4 oz baits no problem, it’s my favorite rod for the Klash 9 and the 8” bullshad glide
  18. You’d be surprised what that reel can handle. I’ve caught huge striper in heavy current on that reel with no issue. It handles fish up to 50 lbs in the salt.
  19. Tatula or coastal 200. Best small swimbait reels for the money
  20. It’s already an expensive bait, are people really paying 200+ for a trick shad? Flipper would have to charge atleast that to make it worth it
