Valkyrie World Expedition Multi Piece Rod
Phil A. and 3 others reacted to Blake dillingham for a topic
Valkyrie World Expedition Multi Piece Rod. Perfect rod for traveling or a rod that breaks down and is always ready to go. With it I have caught fish on toxic wade hogs down to 6 inch mag drafts. It's better for heavier baits but overall great rod and in great shape. Retails for $389 and ill ship it TYD for $250 with insurance. Thank you4 points -

Added a couple for the upcoming season. Nothing special but they cover all the bases for me. Love supporting irod, the genesis series suits me well, and always been a tatula fan. Baits just showing the planned general purposes for the lineup. Can't wait for this season to start!3 points

I use a combination of reel chops and jerks, you can get it to dead walk fine with just reel chops but if you really want it to jerk around like a 110, the rod chops are necessary in my experience3 points

I’ve had good success with the V tail, either the short lip or regular lip and Grenade weights. The greanade weights snap on and off so I can tune on the fly for water depth.3 points

After fishing out of my brothers boat for year whenever he had an open seat/invited me, I picked up this plastic bathtub last winter and had a blast learning last year. Looking forward to what this year brings. 12ft Sun Dolphin American Lowrance Hook Reveal 7 (Splitshot) 45lb Minn Kota Edge 30lb crappy rear troller -- If you upgraded and have a spare 55lb sitting around in MA/RI, let me know It came with a deck and looked slick, but was super tippy, so took the floor out and was stoked with it since I'm not the most surefooted. Also, learned the hard way that I needed new bunks. Learned to plastic weld though!2 points -

The mag doesn't fold up as easy compared to the hudd likely due to the larger internal harness and the plastic seems a bit stiffer. Stinger for me and I try to hide it with the top fin.2 points

After saving money aggressively for the last five years, I pulled the trigger on a very beautiful 2021 Bass Cat Caracal this fall. Hell of an upgrade from the Native Titan I was in before. I'm not used to being able to cover so much water...I've spent the last several years within a three mile radius of the ramp, so the new freedom is daunting. Merc 225 4s, Ultrex, and Helix 9 G4 at the console and the bow. No livescope for now but I'm sure I'll add it at some point when cash flow permits. In related news, anybody need a kayak trailer?2 points -
Its not much but these are probably my most rashed up baits! I gotta say, most baits I usually fish with have pretty tough paintjobs, so they still look good even after the hard use! But these have both been bullied. My first slammer, 9” and my first big bait, a rat from a local guy that slayed fish for me when I first got it. Should probably throw it more!2 points

Hi. Haven’t done one of these in a while and I am slowly running out of interesting baits… This week we have a wingless bird with a lip and a prop Coming in at 8” and 3.25 oz, marked as #19. Can someone identify this bait? And, more importantly, if this is of interest to you, please make me a cash offer (no trades, please). Thanks for looking!1 point -

Absolutely, I use copoly with a little bit of stretch and I still don’t get that aggressive with it or it’ll blow out1 point

I fished the 10inch Magdraft on the Milliken. It is doable, but it isn't pleasant to fish. I'll need a sturdier rod, that's for sure. Thanks for the advice.1 point

Good morning Swimbait Underground. I’m sure this will be a niche post but I hope it helps someone else! Even if you don’t own a Mattlures Rat this still may be good information for other baits! This is how the rat looked before I did everything! Recently I bought a Mattlures Rat off of here, and on my first outing I noticed it would not sit upright in the water. And it wasn’t consistent on which way it would lean; some casts left side and some casts right side. I contacted Matt and he was super helpful. When he created the bait, the hooks were intended to keep the balance of the lure. I was using size 1 short shanks, and I switched to 1/0 Owners and the Rat looked perfect! The only issue was that I prefer to use smaller hooks, and 1/0 was just way too bulky for what I like the throw. My solution was Tungsten Putty. I bought it from a hobby store to change the Deps Silent Kilers to Slide Swimmers years ago and I am still constantly using it. I started playing around with the putty adding different weights on each section of the Rat. First I used 2grams on each section. The front section looked perfect, but the back end was still not sitting upright. I added another gram and still the same thing. Finally added another gram, 4grams total, and it looked perfect! I used a Pick Set to roll the putty and mold it around the Rat’s feet to get the most natural look. To give the putty some rigidity and to keep it from coming off I added some Loctite Ultra Gel Control (blue packaging). My wife then painted over top of the putty. I reapplied the glue to keep everything looking similar. I hope someone can benefit from this information! If anyone has any other tips/comments please feel free the mention them down below! Thank you all!!1 point
