  1. @buzzed bait Way to get it done!
  2. I ordered from him in May, was expecting to wait awhile but got my baits last month
  3. Caught a bunch of mediums but nothing competitive
  4. I’ll second the Dobyns 908, perfect for the hinkle trout and on sale right now for $239 at American legacy fishing tackle…I prefer it to my Dobyns 867 for throwing a Deps 250 as well
  5. Are you fishing water that you know has numbers of big bass in it? Winter is definitely my most productive season for big fish but only on certain lakes that I have confidence that there are lots of big fish in, I guess that’s applicable year round but targeting water that actually produces that size class you’re looking for is pretty important
  6. Still figuring out the GoPro stuff, hope this link works…turn your volume down and please excuse the yell, I was excited I was throwing a ROF 5 hudd and saw the fish under the trunk of a big laydown, when I reeled it over top of her I saw her move out towards it and I killed it and she ate it as it fell in front of her
  7. Wow, thanks @swimbaitunderground for putting these tournaments on and working to make sure they are fair. This fish was one of two I caught all week on a swimbait, the other being about a 14 incher on a rat so it was a grind for me and incredibly lucky that I was able to get this bite. I was able to get the cast to catch on video too so I’ll post that up when I get a chance.
  8. I’ve had 4 bites in 4 days of fishing but finally put one in the boat this afternoon, I’d fished past a big laydown earlier and saw a giant in it, followed me to the boat but didn’t eat…went back about 2 hours later and she ate an 8” hudd on the fall Couldn’t get the hold button to work on my brecknell so that’s why I switch scales in the video IMG_5318.mov
  9. It is not magic, it does not catch fish for you...but it is an amazing tool... I owe tons of fish catches and tournament wins to it that I would not have had without it The biggest things I have learned are how many fish there actually are in my lakes, how often you have followers you never see (sometimes it’s almost every cast) and how many fish there are that don’t follow “typical” fish behavior...can’t tell you how many I’ve caught swimming randomly out over deep water with no structure or anything anywhere nearby, without it I would’ve never known to cast over there
  10. Casted mine off today...would prefer a blank if anyone is looking to offload one Thanks
  11. That was my thoughts as well, I knew they stopped making them but saw that in the description so I added one ROF 0 to my order...but just got home and checked and it doesn’t have the hanger Apparently I didn’t look for it when my order arrived
  12. I bought a ROF 0 off the Huddleston website last week and I’m 99% sure it had the belly hook hanger, I know it said the ROF 0’s and 5’s now had them which is the only reason I ordered one
  13. I struggled with losing a lot of fish on a Deps 250 when I first started throwing them, I feel like I wasn’t getting great hook penetration with the heavier gauge stock hooks...once I swapped over to using gamakatsu round bends on them my hook to land ratio greatly increased...I’m one that likes to lean into fish with treble hook baits rather than swinging on them so that’s why I feel like I wasn’t driving the stock hooks deep enough
  14. There are certainly multiple ways to approach it, for me a swimbait is a tool that sometimes gives me the best chance at catching big bass...when conditions set up and I think throwing them gives me the best chance to win, I will commit and throw them all day. More often however I fish high percentage areas as I come to them with a big swimbait while my main plan of attack remains with conventional tackle. For me, there are days that throwing swimbaits just isn’t the best course of action. Understanding your conditions and the feeding moods of the fish is the biggest key in knowing when to apply them. However, in non-tournament situations I would much rather fish all day for one bite or no bites if I think there’s a chance at catching one giant.
  15. I have one that looks like it came from the same batch in regards to the lip, he sent an email before shipping letting me know that it was cosmetic only and I didn’t have to take it if I didn’t want it
