We had a freak storm blow through yesterday that had tornadoes and 60 degree rain with it. It melted all the ice at Lake of the Ozarks so I decided to get a days fishing in before it iced back over.
Got to the lake and the air was 29 degrees and the water was 34 and clear.
Started off throwing a 6" SBT. Kept getting hit but couldn't get the hooks to stick. After that, I decided to see if I could stick some wakebait fish in these low temps. Got the first one after a few casts.
Wound up landing 7 and farmed a couple nice ones. All the bass landed were between 14" and 16". So no need to post more than one pic, lol.
Had to clear my guides every other cast and my levelwind every cast because they kept loading up with ice! It was still the best way to ring in the New Year ever!
