  1. Not being a baby. Just frustrating to ask a question and get a link to google. I was specificly asking the swimbait underground community. I know that some of you have this rod and have thoughts good or bad. Why would I sort through pages blabber on google when I could get the underground opinion. This used to be a great site full of good information and great fishermen. This site was created for serious swimbait fishermen to share thoughts and information. Now its just a bunch of whining. "We already talked about that" and "Try the search function." and now a link to Google . Did google teach you how to fish?
  2. A spiral wrapped rod is a casting rod who's guides start out on top of the blank and then rotate around the rod leaving the final guides and tip under the blank. This guide placement reduces torque allowing you to fight larger fish on lighter tackle with less fatigue. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=spiral+rod+guides Thanks for the goggle link, Dumbass. I was asking a serious question. I don't need the encyclopedia answer, Im asking someone that knows what they are talking about to explain to me the advantages of the spiral wrap. Serious question!!!
  3. Its a page back. look for braid vs. floro. or something close to that. You'll find it. Don't be so lazy. I doubt your mom is on this site so your gonna haf'ta do some $#*^ for yo self.
  4. Can anyone explain the spiral guide thing to me?
  5. Why wont okuma cover it? They have always been great to me. I,ve blown up a few of them and never had any problem getting a replacement. i bet they will end up replacing it. If not i think i have a tip of one of the rods i blew up. I can mail it to you if you need it.
  6. Or you could just learn how to tie a bettet knot.
  7. I fish both sizes. I like the 7" baits around cover and the 9" baits in more open water. They are cheap enough that you will probably end up with more than one anyway. If I was to pick just one I would get a 7" single joint in white or either trout color. The 7" might get a few more bites than the 9". And the 9" might get a few bigger bites than the 7". Both baits cast well, but the 7 " is easer to pitch into tight spots. Its also less work cranking the 7" baits down. They are both excellent baits. Personally I like the 7" baits a little better. Not sure if its cause they are so easy to fish or cause they get so many bites. +1 on upgrading the hardware.
  8. I throw the 250 on an Okuma 7'11 Ex-Heavy. I would throw it on the Heavy if I thought I could get away with it. The XXH might cast a little further. I just don't want that much rod when trying to land a big fish hooked on heavy line and a treble hook. I would be more concerned about the rods ability to land fish, than gaining whatever it is you think your going to gain on the cast.
  9. Really? I' m just getting into spinnerbaits. There are no chartruse fish in my area so no chartruse. Do spinnerbaits really catch fish? I'm only gonna buy one, What one should I buy? Mom!!! I'm done. Wipe.
  10. I've got a couple that I've had for years. Don't get as much use as they used to, But they all work fine and been used and abused in freshwater and salt. My first 401 blew up after about a solid year of hudd fishing. I had no receipt and it was out of warranty. Contacted Shimano and they replaced it no questions asked. Never had any other problem's with any of the others. There not as smooth as higher end reels but they are able to stand up to the abuse of swimbait fishing.
  11. Just recently started eating pad thai. I think they might be putting crack in the sauce. I cant get enough of it. Hotter the better.
  12. Buy a boat with a steering wheel. That's some funny stuff right there.
  13. I have a 55 in my living room. It doesn't have a Spotted bass in it . That my son didn't take when it was fry bout 1/2" long. If I really had one it would be about 5" and a beast. my son has a 100 gal in this room. He has a small red tail cat, two Oscars and two pictus cats that are about 6" apiece
  14. Is any one actually fishing the new injected 175's or just selling them? How does it compare to the old 175?
  15. Good thread. With lots of great input. Most places I fish have a pretty healthy population of osprey and eagles. Deadsticking a floater not an option. Very first Hudd I got was rof 12 and I had no idea how to fish it. I kept trying different stuff. I had a few rocky banks that I knew held fish and I knew I could go throw a jig up shallow and get a bite. But wanted to get bit on my new swimbait. I tried bombing it in there and got a few follows. Then I tried fishing those same spots deadsticking it on the bottom. sure enough I started getting bit. I could Pretty much go down any of my previously productive spots throw the hudd up in there bounce it along the bottom a few feet and just let it sit there on a tight line and get popped. Had a real hard time hooking those fish. I started noticing the tail was getting toar up. I added a 1/0 stinger hook behind dorsal fin and started hooking a few of those fish. Which turned out to be 2's and 3's. I eventualy stopped doing it cause my baits were getting so toar up buy smaller fish that it wasn't worth it.
  16. Just wondering? You picked up your Wake Jr. a few weeks ago and your smoking fish on it? Really? Why is that so tough to believe? I guess since my post count isn't high enough I don't know how to catch fish haha? Biggest fish was just a bit under 5 so nothing big but it has been consistently getting bit for me Your post count means nothing. My 8yr. old can catch fish. The fact that you claim to be consistently catching fish on your new wake jr. in December is intriguing to me. I've caught a few cranking slammers in pretty cold water. But pretty hit and miss. If your seriously smoking them I'd love to hear about it.

  18. Is that the Diver? I have regular slammers I can crank down that deep.
  19. Didn't even bother reading previous posts so i apologize if this has already been said. Catching fish gives me confidence. If your not catching fish your doing something wrong.
  20. Thanks for that. Have you seen or fished either one?
  21. Thinking 'bout getting a diving slammer. Should I get the two piece or X-2?
  22. Hah! Your funny. You really think your gonna catch fish on a shinny rod and reel? Never trust a carpenter with shiny tools.
