  1. Anyone have any or know where i can buy some 10" triple trout replacement tails? I've looked quite a few places and everywhere is either sold out or they do not have the 10" version. Any help is appreciated.
  2. Geez! if i knew you had a monopoly on 6" rd's i never would have sold you mine! Cant wait for those bluegills though, they will be THE bait around here.
  3. always love those crazy topwater cats
  4. I don't have much experience with smallies but from my osprey fishing, it is probably a good idea to use some lube whch should improve hooking. Also, I know the stock hoopk comes with a pretty long swivel which makes the hook insert pretty far back in the body. Maybe you could try using just a hook, which would move the hook closer to the head and inserting a small bb or split shot into the belly as a counterweight to replace the swivel so it won't roll.
  5. They are my go to hard bait in the lake I fish. There arent any trout and the main forage is bluegill and baby bass and the FS bass is perfect for that. During the summer, I use the floater more often and it is averaging 5-10 quality bites per night outing lately. Its also a great bait at lakes that have trout, as people usually fish trout style baits and it gives them a little bit of a different look.
  6. I think we should talk about everything here evenly and balanced unlike other sites where the mentioning of certain companies gets you crucified. And back to the topic... in my experiences Tylures are durable baits with decent action. The trout are very subtle and in my opininon not the best looking in the water but the bluegill is very realistic when swimming. The finishes are rough, not super detailed and artistic but they look good enough to fish. they are great values though and some of the cheapest hand made baits out there.
  7. Great fish!!! And a very repesctable thing you did letting it go.
  8. Well, went out with rocky tonight from about 7-10. Had quite a good day hit wise, caught 5, got about 6 or 7 more hits... just cant hook fish at the moment. The big girls didnt make a showing tonight and the fish were smaller than average. Nonetheless we got ourselves a limit and had a good time with the moreau bass and floater freestyle bass. You'll notice the scale changes after the first fish because as i was holding the fish after weighing it and i leaned over and tried to get the hooks out of the net and i wasnt paying attention when the fish twisted and took my 50 dollar scale in with it. I caught all my fish on the floater FS bass, Rocky fished the moreau. The first fish was 2.8 This was Rocky's biggest and was a touch over 4 on the moreau premium bass. Im not sure it would count though as the scale is tough to read and there isnt a Wake_Bait card. Oh well. Hopefully someone will catch a much bigger fish anyways.
  9. Good question! I went out tonight and got 5 solid hits... missed all of them. I'll be out again tomorrow and im not coming in until i have at least one to show for it.
  10. Ehh... im not that impressed by it... idk its just that i think the legs are the key to a frog bait and those legs are just like a horny toad like JT said. Im hoping for a bluegill I dont know why he doesnt make one, it would catch tons of fish.
  11. My go to colors are phantom smoke followed by Golden shiner. The shiner when its a little more stained, the smoke when its clear.
  12. Ya... im not really complaining. I mean i probably would have weighted it to sink at about that rate anyway But i would like the option to wake or deadstick it too.
  13. Got my ROF 0... Fished it last night and it sinks... checked the packaging and it says rof 0 and it sinks at about rof 2. And thats without any hooks or weight added to it. Anyone else have the same issue?
  14. I think the biggest reason big baits get rash is their size. Smaller baits get a lot less hook rash then larger ones simply because when they hit the water they have a lot less weight behind them. When a 2 inch crankbait hits the water, the hooks dont get jammed into the bait very hard where as an a 10 inch wake bait has all that weight driving the hooks into the finish when it hits the water. It is the same principal when you throw a bait off of a rock or hard surface, a small bait will bounce right off but a larger one will usually break something.
  15. The rof 0 actually makes a great wake when you reel it, should be a good nigt bait. And as odd as it seems, deadsticking at night has gotten me the most hits this summer.
  16. Great stuff! Keep them coming!
  17. I can tie you some. What size hooks would you want and colors? PM me.
  18. Cl8s are great baits, they have great finishes and the action is very smooth and fluid, though a little too wide for my taste but they definitely catch fish. The hook ups are about the same to standard trebles and they get some of the short strikers others miss. However, since the main hook is fixed, it makes it a little easier to throw.
  19. [quote name=So I guess I did well to get a new one for $218 ya you did very well And, im not sure if it was just the one i had experience with but in my opinion, the action was not the best... for the size an armageddon has much better action IMO.
  20. wow... im an idiot... i meant that to be a pm. sorry
