  1. Nice fish. But what's up with the tail on that bait? Looks like some infringement to me...
  2. a bottom hook 6.5" rising son is the first bait you should learn to throw. Just like a spinnerbait around any shallow cover. Unless you live in socal then I would say 8" hudd
  3. adjusting your angles until you find the right one for a spot, but don't keep casting to the same spot too much either. Your just further conditioning them. 90% of my bites come on the first cast or two anyways. wait until you can make the one perfect cast
  4. Still have some rare trout/kokanee colors and white ones if your interested in the other trade we had been working on?
  5. If it is that punk "Not Allowed" Jared he lives in Elk Grove, CA. Worst scammer of all time
  6. All slow sink. pm offer
  7. Have a few extra baits I may pass on. Cutthrout trout, Spring Hitch, Kokanee w/ no spots, carp all brand new. One of each. Maybe two each available if the offer is right. Only interested in a deps 250 in a factory trout color for back-up or some cash. Just seeing whats out there. Don't be offended if I don't reply to lame offers...
  8. Any smaller glides baits I have tried don't really "glide". I haven't thrown it much but even the deps 175 is disappointing compared to the 250. The smaller gan craft was decent but I sold it to Dave. He seemed to do well... Maybe I am not patient enough but those small baits are tough to fish. The S-waver seems to be the best bang for your buck really
  9. wrong forum. where is the ban hammer?
  10. I see some of those "urban anglers" used a stroller before...
  11. Not too many fish left in the lagoon now it seems. Gone are the easy 20+ fish days and semi frequent 25lb limits. Water quality has gone to ish, algae blooms even in winter. Weeds were nearly gone one year the algae was so bad. I don't even remember taking the boat up there last year... Hudds have worked well, but there are better ways to catch fish there. They didn't stock it for a few years a while back and it seemed to be the beginning of the end of the "good old days". It's a pity because it is the only public place with bass in it for about 2 hrs in all directions!
  12. If your feeling generous?? Good luck! Hope you've been saving your allowance....
  13. Hype seems to rule this industry right now. Websites like this fuel the fire for sure. The Hinkle baits look great. The limited videos of the action look real good. There has been some seriously awesome bass caught on the trout. I have never seen one in person. But $600 for any bait is crazy!! I hope Andrew is getting some of that over retail action. I hate too see others make more money on a bait then the maker does. But no matter what, a bait is still a tool that you have to use correctly. I was lucky enough to learn about the 250's before most when they were still around $100 (Thanks Butch and Rob). I had some good success the first two years but unfortunately didn't get to fish enough to really take advantage of the advantage. Nor did i realize then how good that advantage really could have been... The one small lake I fished the most really tightened up the 3rd year. They would barely follow it the few times I was there. Could have been a lot of things causing that, but it seemed played out already. I was probably still missing some serious potential but just not using the tool correctly. Long story short, A bait us only worth what you think it is within your budget. If you think that spending a ridiculous amount of money to get a unicorn bait is going to solve your lack of success when you haven't learned to fish a hudd yet then... But if you actually fish a lot and you need a new bait to show your fish first it just might be worth it. Only your pocket can really make that decision. Don't break yourself for one bait or just the sake of throwing the bestest swimbait. There are a lot of baits that can do the job for less....
  14. Just out of curiosity... To what degree did the spinnerbait outfish the s-waver on that trip?
  15. For me soft baits get WAY more play from the fish I want to catch. But they are not for covering lots of water in general. Hudds and baitsmith magnums fished purposely on key spots in trout stocked clearish lakes is my preferred method. A rising son can cover some water pretty well when your fishing shallow water too. Other than the 250 and wake baits at night I personally have not done well with hardbaits in general for largemouth. I plan on doing some smallie and spot fishing this year. So I am going to give a few freestyles I picked up a try fishing fast and erratic for the kamikaze bites from them.
  16. Take that logic and make it the exact opposite, and you're right on more occasions than you're wrong. I'm so confused!!!

  18. It was a Raptor. I posted the sale on Dec 1 2011. Time flies, it's old news. I had no reason to mention it too you. I met you at the lake once. You sold me a few soft plastic baits once. That's all I have to say about that. I'm glad your stepping up and filling the void. Carry on...
  19. If you need to know... My personal experience was with one of the original 3 piece trout baits. Tail broke on the first outing. Was never able to get figure out a contact that worked online. This was before you started bass fishing. I later sold the bait as is on this site. Around that time I also had a question about another bait I had purchased one of the original G3's. Was only finally able to get a response after 2 months of trying, when I emailed Don O and another couple of weeks later he got an answer for me. Don told me he said he "doesn't have time to respond to emails". I'm sure he does fix baits for people that know how to get a hold of him. But if you don't frequent one of these swimbait forums and only try to find info online like most people would, you are SOL. That's my experience and I have heard of many other similar stories. I have almost always worked in some form of retail or professional sales environment- customer service is king in maintaining good standing with your customers that have already given you money. When you lack that quality it doesn't matter to some how good your product is to some people. Just my two cents... Don't take it personal. I really don't gaf because it doesn't affect me anymore. It is good to know you are stepping up the customer relations. I'm sure you will be getting a lot of emails!
  20. Needing a replacement tail IS a problem with the bait if there is no way to get a replacement tail!? Don't you think? What is someone supposed to do with a $100+ bait if they lose the tail and have no way of getting a hold of the manufacturer to even buy a new tail? Doesn't matter to me because I won't buy one, just raising the point that customer service DOES matter and there is none available as faras the general public is concerned.
  21. There is swimbait drama and fish beef in other cultures?? It originated in OC and you know it! Obviously there is bickering and drama in all walks of life Jason... this question is about fish beef and internet predators like Chad
  22. ZERO customer service help through the rago site or emails or anything. Maybe Danny can help or Don Osbourne seems to have a connection that works
